In my opinion the most important stanza in the whole story is “ah well a day ! What evil looks had I from old and young instead of the cross the albatross about my neck was hung.” I choose this because it’s the last stanza and it says what he’s done with the albatross and what was going to become of it and it also leaves you on a clif hanger because owhat is going to happen to the albatross and its a symbol to protect him instead of the cross so the mariner thinks nothing is going to happen to him
